Does belief in your network marketing product pay the bills?
65Some people think network marketing is the greatest thing since sliced bread, and other people, who haven’t done well or had good experiences, think it’s the worst thing ever invented. Of course, as with most things, the truth is somewhere in the middle.
But one aspect of network marketing is definitely problematic. That is the idea that “belief” or “motivation” is enough to succeed in network marketing. Certainly it matters; you can’t sell a product you don’t believe in, and you can’t get out and sell if you are not motivated and enthusiastic—at least it’s much harder.
But the message many people get is that if they believe enough, they’ll make a lot of product sales and recruit a lot of people—and if they aren’t motivated or don’t believe, they’ll fail. Therefore, the feeling is, if you’re not succeeding, it’s because your belief is not strong enough or you’re not enthusiastic enough. And that is, quite often, dead wrong.
The biggest reason for failure in any business is not making enough sales. Period. That’s why you might fail in network marketing. You have to make sales to make money, and if you’re not selling product, you’re not making money. And it doesn’t help to simply hear that you don’t believe enough or aren’t enthusiastic enough.
You see, the way you make sales is to know how to sell. You have to know who your prospects are, where they are, how to reach them, and how to ask for the order when you talk to them.
Yes, it helps if you believe in your product. Yes, it helps if you’re enthusiastic. But if you’re making presentations to people who hate your product, who have no money, or who would never buy from a network marketing company, it doesn’t matter if you’re using a bullhorn and pom poms to get their attention. They’re not going to buy.
And if you’re presenting to people who want your product, who desperately need your product, but you just say, “This is the product” and then stare at them hopefully, they probably won’t buy. Honestly, when was the last time someone chased you down and asked you if you could take their order for your product?
Belief and motivation are important parts of making the sale, but the only way you can really succeed in any sales career is to learn how to sell. And while most people in network marketing say it’s not a sales career, it definitely is. And that’s good news.
Really. Because if it’s a sales career, and you haven’t been doing well, you can get better. You can study sales books and DVDs and go to seminars. You can learn how to sell. But if you have been thinking all along that you just needed to believe more, no wonder you feel discouraged. Because every time you pump up your belief and get inspired, then go out and get turned down, it hurts. And the more you believe, the more it hurts.
So now you understand that it takes more than belief; it also takes some specific, learn able skills. And that means you can learn those skills and improve your sales numbers. You can; anyone can. And pairing skill with belief will yield incredible results.
Now in order to get to the point where you have a chance at the sale, you must first know how to acquire the lead. This is where my team and I have focused most of our efforts upon. We no longer believe in chasing down potential leads, practicing the archaic rituals of the 3 foot rule or purchasing leads.
Many people including myself, no longer believe that purchasing business oppurtunity leads is worth the time or the efrort needed to acquire them. Furthermore bystudying at the StarksEServices, we have learned the art of Attraction Marketing. Where as you make yourself more desirable, by providing valuable information up front, to the potential lead(s). From there they will pursue you based upon them seeing you as an authority in an area their skills or knowledge are lacking in. Thus this starts the whole process of becoming more attractive in the world of Network Marketing.

Thumbs up. Belief is great if it has a solid foundation. Even the Bible says "faith without works is dead..." Marketers need to stop believing the lies and half truths, use a little common sense, find a good system like Renegade and a good guide like you. Put "work" into it, follow your guidance and patently wait for the harvest.
Keep up the good work. ~ eddie
